It was reported on many news broadcasts that the Earth's Moon and the planets Venus and Jupiter were going to be very close to each other this past Monday night. It was also said that such a phenomenon would not appear for another 40 years. As a result, many people attempted to capture this rare coming-together of the three bodies, and one amateur photographer, Mike Salway, got a bunch of pictures showing the three bodies as close as possible. They are located HERE. They look pretty darn good. And weird.
In other, completely unrelated news, a hockey player by the name of Sean Avery was suspended by the NHL (National Hockey League) for 6 games for his crude comments regarding his ex-girl. For those who don't know about this topic, it happened something like this ... Sean Avery plays for Dallas. They were in Calgary, preparing to play against Calgary's hockey team. Before the game started, Avery waited for the cameras to set up and the lights to shine, and he delivered a speech something along the lines of how common it had become in the NHL for people to fall in love with his "sloppy seconds" ... meaning his ex-girlfriend. Since it was a rather strong derogitory comment, the NHL suspended Avery for six games for his comments, and Avery agreed to seek "professional anger-management evaluation".
I highly doubt if it would help whatsoever.

I Choose You! ... Terrorists!
72 hours of nonstop grenades, bullets, chaos and blood reigned the city of Mumbai (Bombay). I'm sure many of you saw this on TV or read it somewhere or the other, as it has captured the attention of the whole world. You know what I think? The people that did this are total fu*ks. (Pardon the language).
Following the attacks, one of the security chiefs resigned from his duty, and I'm glad he did so. There are a plethora of questions and accusations being thrown at the government, and I''m willing to bet almost anything that they do not have all the answers. And even if they do, chances are they are not going to release it to the public. Many of the accusations from the government itself have pointed towards the involvement of Pakistan, and obviously, they deny it. My grandparents live pretty darn close to the 10 locations targeted by the 'insurgents'. However, the funny, and relieving thing is, that they fell asleep a short while before the attacks started and woke up the next morning and just went like "huh..." after they found out. But they're safe and sound, so it's all good.
CNN also reported that they were targeting Western people, in terms of Americans, Canadians and the British. They were asking all the fair skin people for their passport, and they checked who was of American/Canadian/British passport, and they unleashed three days worth of hell.
They attacked hotels, they attacked a Jewish center, they attacked hospitals, they attacked gas stations, they attacked a railway terminal. I was at one of the hotels that they attacked, and I can still remember it's image in my head. and now it's been screwed over. It's pathetic. Stupid terrorists.

Let the Drugs Flow ... Let the Cops Try
So, as the visitors of this blog may notice, I have decided to move the photo to the top of the day. It gives an awesome space photo (I love them photos - don't know why). So yeah, do admire the photos if/when you stop by :)
And finally, I watched the first episode of the first season of The Wire. It's pretty flipping awesome. I was glued to it from the beginning, and to the end, and I was left wanting to watch another episode. But I had no time, each episode is an hour long, and I don't have two hours to watch a TV Show. I wish I did.
So, anyway, back to The Wire. The show's lead, a character by the name of McNulty, is introduced immediately, and from that, it can be clearly seen that he is the center of the show, and the show revolves around him and his actions etc. The first episode laid out the groundwork, setting the sides, and getting the people introduced. One side is the police, and the different people involved in the police, and the other side is the bad guys - the druggies and their operations. The director and the rest of the crew do a very realistic job of portraying the hardships and the way of life of the people in Baltimore, with the low-rise apartment complexes and the torn-down buildings etc.
I was mildly surprised at the frequency of cursing in the show, but I got used to it in a matter of minutes. It's an eff-bomb now, eff-bomb two minutes later. The occasional ass this, and curse-word that. But it's used in the context of the show, to flesh out the characteristics of each person in the show. It's a dark, gritty, and accurate portrayal, and I'm glad I decided to find the show and start watching it. I'm sure I will not be disappointed one bit.

One of them Rants
So, I'm sure I'm not the only one curious about The Wire, the show Ms. Cat is ... immersed in currently. I don't know what others have done to satisfy their curiosity, but I decided to check the show out. I couldn't find a working version online, so I set out to look for it elsewhere. and since I'm not quite 18 yet (I will be soon, just wait), and I couldn't rent it from the store, I turned to the magical world of downloading from teh intranet.
To my surprise, I found it, sitting there waiting to be downloaded, yet again. It then hit me, there is WAY too many things available on the internet. I mean, you have an urge to watch or play or read or listen to something, and BAM, it's there, waiting to be clicked on. Just to clarify, I'm not going against this idea ... I love the stuff posted on the internet, and I download like an addicted lil kid, but it's amazing to see all of the things on the internet, and it's not even ... a hard copy, or "real". Over the years, I've amassed about 80-90 Indian movies (90% are DVDs, which are pretty darn big in size (about 4.35GB each)), about 40-50 English movies, 6 GB worth of Indian music, 3 GB of English music, and countless other TV Shows, Cartoons and Misc. Almost all of it is downloaded, day and night.
Anywahoo, back to The Wire. While browsing through the different ... options I had for download, I noticed a comment saying something along the lines of ... "Good Copy, but download at your own risk, you may get a notification from your ISP (Internet Service Provided - Bell/Rogers) about downloading the show" and another that read "Yeah, HBO and FOX keep a close tab on who downloads their TV Shows." And so, I wondered again, how the hell do they have the time and leisure to track down each and every Jack and Jill and sent them a notification? And then it occurred to me ... that it's possible that person was from the HBO/FOX/Other Companies, trying to prevent people from downloading and stopping the piracy and etc from flowing so abundantly. I know I'm not that hardcore of a downloader, and even then, I used to average out to approx. 170GB of download/upload every month. Now it's about 30-40GB ... stupid Bell people restricting me and my download.
And so yeah. I downloaded the first season, I hope to begin watching it sometime tonight, or tomnorrow. And hopefully I should have an initial review/response about it.

SNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW ... and then some...
I'm sure many of you guys have trudged through the snow Thursday morning ... perhaps sad or perhaps happy about snow finally covering nearly everything you see.
I have waited way too long for the snow. This probably does not make sense, but I love the snow, and I love the winter, but I don't like the temperatures that come with it. (I know, it wouldn't be winter without the freezing cold, but eh) Every tree branch has two colors to it now, a brown base with a frosting of white - and I think it looks pretty darn good. Since I live in a condo, the view from my balcony is far and wide, and it shows everything white and brown, or white and black, or just white.
In other ... unusual things, our class almost got a quiz, thanks to the whole class being lazy. I, too, didn't have my book on me, and I thought to myself that it was at home. But as soon as I got to my locker, there it lay at the bottom of the locker, and I wonder what could have happened had there been a quiz tomorrow, with tons and tons of reading to be done. But, it's not that bad, so yeah.
Anyway, I can't wait for the winter break to come about. I desperately want 2 weeks to sleep, whenever, possibly never, and wake up whenever, possibly never. But it's still a month away, and until that time, I'm sure every single person is going to be nailed with projects after projects.

... The Bedroom
Well, then, lets get right to it ... for some reason I forgot all about the blogging ... and I have several racked up, waiting to be posted ... so here goes.
Alright, the bedroom. Day + Night.
Day: Right Before I leave for school. - For this post, we'll have the weather outside as being gloriously sunny.
The sun's rays light up a corner of the room, ensuring that no other light is needed. The table has all that it would have, and then some. Papers, pens, the timetable, loose change, bills, and a laptop case. And a box of a toaster oven. (No idea why, but it's there) Across from the table lies the uniform-hanging-place, covered with everything uniform related. The main attraction of the room, the bed, could not be anymore messy than it is now. The sheets are crumpled a bit too much, the blanket is crunched up in places, the pillows (2 of them), lie on top of each other, sporting a rather fashionable imprint of the head and neck. The clothes worn from the previous night are lie on the bed, hurriedly thrown as a result of a lack of time. A lone squash racket sits in the corner, waiting to be picked up and used for playing ... squash.
Night: Right before I decide to sleep.
It's night, and the sun is in hiding. The light is flicked on, illuminating every corner of the room. It matters not that school is over 6 or 7 hours ago. It was a lie when it was mentioned, in the Day Paragraph, that the bed could not be more messy than it is then. It is a lot more messy now. The white tee worn underneath, the blue uniform tee, the red or blue warm hoodie, the uniform pants, and maybe a pair of jeans worn during the evening have taken over the lower portion of the bed. A pair or two of socks lie right beside the bed, and all this will soon need some attention. The table has all that it had at the start of the day, and joining the list is a wallet, an mp3 player, with its headphones, and maybe a quarter or two. The majority of the room remains unchanged from before. A lone squash racket still sits in the corner, waiting to be picked up and used for playing ... squash.

A Considerable Speck
Alright, I have no other choice but to use the blog as a way of ... communicating.
And I'm hoping Stephanie and Dion are reading this ... as soon as possible.
So, how exactly are we going to have our poem recited?
How are we going to have the mite thing move around and what not ...?
Any ideas? Hmm? Hmm?

Happy Things ... and Other Things.
It would be very sad and pathetic of me to say that there are not a lot of things that make me happy ... SO I'm going to say that there are a lot of things that make me happy. I'm not just saying that to avoid being sad and pathetic ... but making me happy or excited or jubilant isn't all that hard.
If I happen to be rooting for something to happen in such a manner, and if it happens in that manner, I tend to get boisterous and ... very happy. A good example of this would be rooting for a team in any sport (Leafs in the NHL). It's ... a common belief that the Leafs don't do all that good, and I am included within the group who believe this idea. However, if I were watching a game, and they would score, I would honestly yell in excitement. It may be true that they don't always do good, but they're still the Toronto Maple Leafs, and they're still my home team.
In other random news, I heard Palestine's national soccer team got to finally play on home turf against another Arab team. It's kinda sad ... you have to deal with national security and get harassed several times with some issue or another before you get to play soccer. Truly, crazy.
The US elections are also coming to a close, with Obama being the leader, according to CNN. As it is, no matter who comes into power, they will have way too much on their hands with the economy and infrastructure in shambles in the States. If Sen. McCain was to come into power, there is also a high chance of him having a heart attack within the first 3 months of presidency. He's freakin 72 and becoming President ... it's ridiciculous.
Anyway, yeah. I'm ... just going to end it.

Making Me Angry ... Eh?
It's an interesting topic ... this anger stuff. I have often wondered what I would do if I get fully angry ... and by that I mean I grow big fat claws ... and a couple of wings would be nice, and also some dinosaur teeth to rip through someone.
To be very frank, I have no idea what makes me that angry. I tend to label it as being very tolerant, and whatever reason it may be, I just don't seem to get 'that' angry. Some things to irk me, but they're minor things like slow-moving-people-in-the-hallway, annoying jerks etc etc. The only thing that brings me as close to the boiling point as possible is people arriving late for an appointment or something. If I say 11:15, I want the other people there by11:15. I don't mind waiting for five or so extra minutes, even ten would probably get me just slightly annoyed, but coming half an hour later is something that just ... kind of sends me into a small rage; and I mean, small rage.
I guess I am indifferent to what people do. I mean, there are things that can get me annoyed, or a little angry, but nothing that sends me through the roof. People can say what they want, they can act however they want - I know they can't do anything to me unless I lose my bearings and lash out at them, allowing them to do whatever they want while claiming self-defense. Besides, I know that acting on pure hate usually has consequences - such that I do not want to experience.
So, I am still in search of that one thing that can enrage me like no tomorrow. I would love to never find it out - I don't want to see me crazy ... I'd probably pass out.

Title
I couldn't think of an appropriate title to use, so pardon the lame, or crappy title.
So, I went to see Max Payne over the weekend ... with the hopes of seeing a wonderful retelling of the awesome game. And by the time I was out ... I didn't know what to think. I had no words to describe it.
I couldn't say it totally blew because ... it didn't. It did have it's good points, although very few. Nor could I say it was good ... because it wasn't. I could only remark that it was an 'ehhhhhhhhhh' movie - the type you'd love to watch for 4 bucks. It could have been a lot better. I'm sure many were disappointed by the final product - especially the ones who have played the game before.
On the topic of movies ... the movie "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" got a dismal 2/10 rating. I'm glad someone takes the time and effort to pull off such a piece of ... worthless nothing. It's good to laugh at the bottom 100 movies, of all time.
**
The weekend has been pretty darn good overall. Don't you just love it when there's almost no homework and you can do whatever you feel like doing? I do.
As a result, my weekend consisted of going out a little, staying home a lot, hating the weather outside, watching Two and a Half Men (gotta love the show). and eating of course.
So yeah. good week (short day and late start together), good weekend ... 'ehhhhhhhhh' movie, Two and a Half Men, and Family Guy (Gotta love it)
Till next time

Move To the Music ... Live Through My Music
And I'm back to rant about something or the other. I suppose I can start out with music. It's ALMOST my life ... and my passion ... and I love the music I listen to. People tend to like one genre, or one type of music ... and although I would love to include myself into that category, truth is, I just can't.
Bang in some rock music, throw in some rap, add a bit of instrumental ... and mix them up into some ... thing. Also, I'm Indian, so Indian music has a heavy influence on me. I honestly cannot go one day without listening to music. There have been a lot of cases whereby people believe that listening to music helps while studying. And there have also been a lot of cases where people disagree with that. I'm proud to be one of those who can study/work while listening to music. More often than not, it's the parents that tell you to stop listening to the music and to concentrate on your homework (My parents do, at least). I guess we're just different.
So ... like I said, I have a very broad range of music ... it can be something from the Rock genre (Metallica etc.), the rap genre (Eminem - he's CLASSIC, P. Diddy Etc.) and I have a small space for instrumentals (if anyone likes instrumentals ... they should check out Clubbed to Death by Rob Dougan ... it's awesome).
I also don't know what I look for in a song ... for some it's the voice of the lead singer that draws me to the song. For others, it's solely the beat and rhythm of the song that get me addicted to it. As is the case with almost everyone else ... I listen to a song until I get absolutely sick of it, and then come back to it six months later, only to stop listening to it a week later.
I also find music as a great source to ... improve my English. Although a rather large portion of the songs have lyrics that make absolutely no sense, they do tend to provide rather good vocabulary to remember. I'm sure everyone has been given the following scenario: If you were stuck on an island, with no one, and you had to pick 5 things - what would they be? For me, one of the items would DEFINITELY be my music (in the shape of my mp3 player or whatever)
One of my favorite line from a song ... "Now the World Is Gone I'm Just One"
So yeah ... there's my rant about music. You may hate it, you may enjoy it, and I love it.

Little Bit of This ... Little Bit of That
So it's the Thanksgiving Weekend - 2 days of doing absolutely nothing - and then doing everything Monday night .. homework that is.
According to them news, it's the last long weekend before Christmas (I think). I do, however, disagree, since our PA Day is coming up in 2 weeks, or something.
The weather has been ... awesome. Thankfully the cold has been ... away for sometime, sleeping I suppose. Hopefully we can have a white Christmas and have snow all over the place. Gotta love the snow - and winter. Just not the temperature. Winter's good.
What else ... what else ... Friday Night Lights was a big success, I hear. We won, of course. Go Goliaths. And then I saw the report on TV about someone crashing a party and it involved a couple of EYCI Athletes. Why'd they have to ruin it. It was all going good.
NHL Season is officially underway (For those who care). As usual, Leafs are doing ... nothing good, and got murdered by Montreal (stupid Habs). But the Leafs have nothing good ... so I guess it's only natural to get murdered time and time again. It's almost time to give up hopes of them ever doing anything - but maybe after 10 years they will have a spark. Until then, whoever coaches the Leafs ... good luck getting anything through to them. The only thing relatively good is that the team is young ... the rest is garbage. Except Toskala, he's good :)
Anywahoo, I'll post something soon. Maybe later. I don't know.

A New Place ... Yet Same Old Same Old
Alright, full control of the blog feels much better than just being a contributor like we were (no offense to Ms. Cat)
This is The Main Event. You can decide the situation - from a comedy show's main event to a wrestling show's main event to a school play's main event - The Main Event is what counts. But oh boy, messing around with the new controls is pretty damn time-consuming.
From choosing the template to deciding how everything looks like took pretty much half of my weekend, and for once I had no major homework to spaz about. I must say, I'm nearly satisfied about how it's shaping up. I may seem like a perfectionist, and if I have control over all the little matters, I will go on and on and on and on .. and on. and on. To anyone who passes by my blog, I have set up a rather simple version of Hangman that I hope you give a shot at. Also, at the bottom, I have arranged a photo of the day. It can be anything, but mostly, and hopefully, nature/science-related.
Anywahoo, I don't like the weather that has decided to invade Toronto and sit down as boss on top of us. I don't like wearing a jacket from time to time. Go. Away. Weather. A good friend of mine had his birthday over the weekend, and I'm glad to have a cheerful topic amongst the less pleasing weather and other mumbo-jumbo.
Well, I'm going to keep it short and sweet. I don't know how long I'd be able to go on and on .. and on .. and on ... and on .. about something or the other.
So, onto Family Guy at 9.
Until next time.
