I Choose You! ... Terrorists!

72 hours of nonstop grenades, bullets, chaos and blood reigned the city of Mumbai (Bombay). I'm sure many of you saw this on TV or read it somewhere or the other, as it has captured the attention of the whole world. You know what I think? The people that did this are total fu*ks. (Pardon the language).

Following the attacks, one of the security chiefs resigned from his duty, and I'm glad he did so. There are a plethora of questions and accusations being thrown at the government, and I''m willing to bet almost anything that they do not have all the answers. And even if they do, chances are they are not going to release it to the public. Many of the accusations from the government itself have pointed towards the involvement of Pakistan, and obviously, they deny it. My grandparents live pretty darn close to the 10 locations targeted by the 'insurgents'. However, the funny, and relieving thing is, that they fell asleep a short while before the attacks started and woke up the next morning and just went like "huh..." after they found out. But they're safe and sound, so it's all good.

CNN also reported that they were targeting Western people, in terms of Americans, Canadians and the British. They were asking all the fair skin people for their passport, and they checked who was of American/Canadian/British passport, and they unleashed three days worth of hell.
They attacked hotels, they attacked a Jewish center, they attacked hospitals, they attacked gas stations, they attacked a railway terminal. I was at one of the hotels that they attacked, and I can still remember it's image in my head. and now it's been screwed over. It's pathetic. Stupid terrorists.

Let the Drugs Flow ... Let the Cops Try

So, as the visitors of this blog may notice, I have decided to move the photo to the top of the day. It gives an awesome space photo (I love them photos - don't know why). So yeah, do admire the photos if/when you stop by :)

And finally, I watched the first episode of the first season of The Wire. It's pretty flipping awesome. I was glued to it from the beginning, and to the end, and I was left wanting to watch another episode. But I had no time, each episode is an hour long, and I don't have two hours to watch a TV Show. I wish I did.

So, anyway, back to The Wire. The show's lead, a character by the name of McNulty, is introduced immediately, and from that, it can be clearly seen that he is the center of the show, and the show revolves around him and his actions etc. The first episode laid out the groundwork, setting the sides, and getting the people introduced. One side is the police, and the different people involved in the police, and the other side is the bad guys - the druggies and their operations. The director and the rest of the crew do a very realistic job of portraying the hardships and the way of life of the people in Baltimore, with the low-rise apartment complexes and the torn-down buildings etc.

I was mildly surprised at the frequency of cursing in the show, but I got used to it in a matter of minutes. It's an eff-bomb now, eff-bomb two minutes later. The occasional ass this, and curse-word that. But it's used in the context of the show, to flesh out the characteristics of each person in the show. It's a dark, gritty, and accurate portrayal, and I'm glad I decided to find the show and start watching it. I'm sure I will not be disappointed one bit.

One of them Rants

So, I'm sure I'm not the only one curious about The Wire, the show Ms. Cat is ... immersed in currently. I don't know what others have done to satisfy their curiosity, but I decided to check the show out. I couldn't find a working version online, so I set out to look for it elsewhere. and since I'm not quite 18 yet (I will be soon, just wait), and I couldn't rent it from the store, I turned to the magical world of downloading from teh intranet.

To my surprise, I found it, sitting there waiting to be downloaded, yet again. It then hit me, there is WAY too many things available on the internet. I mean, you have an urge to watch or play or read or listen to something, and BAM, it's there, waiting to be clicked on. Just to clarify, I'm not going against this idea ... I love the stuff posted on the internet, and I download like an addicted lil kid, but it's amazing to see all of the things on the internet, and it's not even ... a hard copy, or "real". Over the years, I've amassed about 80-90 Indian movies (90% are DVDs, which are pretty darn big in size (about 4.35GB each)), about 40-50 English movies, 6 GB worth of Indian music, 3 GB of English music, and countless other TV Shows, Cartoons and Misc. Almost all of it is downloaded, day and night.

Anywahoo, back to The Wire. While browsing through the different ... options I had for download, I noticed a comment saying something along the lines of ... "Good Copy, but download at your own risk, you may get a notification from your ISP (Internet Service Provided - Bell/Rogers) about downloading the show" and another that read "Yeah, HBO and FOX keep a close tab on who downloads their TV Shows." And so, I wondered again, how the hell do they have the time and leisure to track down each and every Jack and Jill and sent them a notification? And then it occurred to me ... that it's possible that person was from the HBO/FOX/Other Companies, trying to prevent people from downloading and stopping the piracy and etc from flowing so abundantly. I know I'm not that hardcore of a downloader, and even then, I used to average out to approx. 170GB of download/upload every month. Now it's about 30-40GB ... stupid Bell people restricting me and my download.

And so yeah. I downloaded the first season, I hope to begin watching it sometime tonight, or tomnorrow. And hopefully I should have an initial review/response about it.

SNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW ... and then some...

I'm sure many of you guys have trudged through the snow Thursday morning ... perhaps sad or perhaps happy about snow finally covering nearly everything you see.

I have waited way too long for the snow. This probably does not make sense, but I love the snow, and I love the winter, but I don't like the temperatures that come with it. (I know, it wouldn't be winter without the freezing cold, but eh) Every tree branch has two colors to it now, a brown base with a frosting of white - and I think it looks pretty darn good. Since I live in a condo, the view from my balcony is far and wide, and it shows everything white and brown, or white and black, or just white.

In other ... unusual things, our class almost got a quiz, thanks to the whole class being lazy. I, too, didn't have my book on me, and I thought to myself that it was at home. But as soon as I got to my locker, there it lay at the bottom of the locker, and I wonder what could have happened had there been a quiz tomorrow, with tons and tons of reading to be done. But, it's not that bad, so yeah.

Anyway, I can't wait for the winter break to come about. I desperately want 2 weeks to sleep, whenever, possibly never, and wake up whenever, possibly never. But it's still a month away, and until that time, I'm sure every single person is going to be nailed with projects after projects.

Completely random headline: "Madonna and Ritchie begin divorce"

... The Bedroom

Well, then, lets get right to it ... for some reason I forgot all about the blogging ... and I have several racked up, waiting to be posted ... so here goes.

Alright, the bedroom. Day + Night.

Day: Right Before I leave for school. - For this post, we'll have the weather outside as being gloriously sunny.

The sun's rays light up a corner of the room, ensuring that no other light is needed. The table has all that it would have, and then some. Papers, pens, the timetable, loose change, bills, and a laptop case. And a box of a toaster oven. (No idea why, but it's there) Across from the table lies the uniform-hanging-place, covered with everything uniform related. The main attraction of the room, the bed, could not be anymore messy than it is now. The sheets are crumpled a bit too much, the blanket is crunched up in places, the pillows (2 of them), lie on top of each other, sporting a rather fashionable imprint of the head and neck. The clothes worn from the previous night are lie on the bed, hurriedly thrown as a result of a lack of time. A lone squash racket sits in the corner, waiting to be picked up and used for playing ... squash.

Night: Right before I decide to sleep.

It's night, and the sun is in hiding. The light is flicked on, illuminating every corner of the room. It matters not that school is over 6 or 7 hours ago. It was a lie when it was mentioned, in the Day Paragraph, that the bed could not be more messy than it is then. It is a lot more messy now. The white tee worn underneath, the blue uniform tee, the red or blue warm hoodie, the uniform pants, and maybe a pair of jeans worn during the evening have taken over the lower portion of the bed. A pair or two of socks lie right beside the bed, and all this will soon need some attention. The table has all that it had at the start of the day, and joining the list is a wallet, an mp3 player, with its headphones, and maybe a quarter or two. The majority of the room remains unchanged from before. A lone squash racket still sits in the corner, waiting to be picked up and used for playing ... squash.
