It was reported on many news broadcasts that the Earth's Moon and the planets Venus and Jupiter were going to be very close to each other this past Monday night. It was also said that such a phenomenon would not appear for another 40 years. As a result, many people attempted to capture this rare coming-together of the three bodies, and one amateur photographer, Mike Salway, got a bunch of pictures showing the three bodies as close as possible. They are located HERE. They look pretty darn good. And weird.
In other, completely unrelated news, a hockey player by the name of Sean Avery was suspended by the NHL (National Hockey League) for 6 games for his crude comments regarding his ex-girl. For those who don't know about this topic, it happened something like this ... Sean Avery plays for Dallas. They were in Calgary, preparing to play against Calgary's hockey team. Before the game started, Avery waited for the cameras to set up and the lights to shine, and he delivered a speech something along the lines of how common it had become in the NHL for people to fall in love with his "sloppy seconds" ... meaning his ex-girlfriend. Since it was a rather strong derogitory comment, the NHL suspended Avery for six games for his comments, and Avery agreed to seek "professional anger-management evaluation".
I highly doubt if it would help whatsoever.

Avery sounds like a jerk, I'd hate to ever date him.

I love the pictures in the link. They have a couple high-resolution images on that website, along with a very high-resolution panoramic photo too.
The moon looked awesome, and Avery's a tool. There's a rumor that he might be traded to the Leafs....I really hope not. The big reason he got in trouble though was he didn't have a scheduled media thing or anything, he just called the cameras over to say something like that, which made him look like even more of a jackass. Also, in case anyone didn't know, his ex girlfriend was Elisha Cuthbert, from "The Girl Next Door", and "Popular Mechanics For Kids" if you remember it. She's a bombshell. Haha, and the guy that he was talking about who got his "sloppy seconds" happens to be one of the biggest hitters in the league... Sucks for Avery if he gets back on the ice ever.
